    An upcoming play about gay marriage and ballroom dance aims to challenge the strict gender roles found in the world of ballroom, and explores how a gay couple adds a unique twist to one of society’s grandest traditions.

    “I see [ballroom dance] as a final frontier for heterosexism, and my aim is to ensure there is no remaining space where a gay or alternative couple in any sense doesn’t feel welcome,” said Trevor Copp, creator of and performer in First Dance, which runs August 18-20 and 25-27 at the Burlington Student Theatre Centre…
